Children’s Course in Boston – August 4th, 2019

When: Sunday, August 4th. 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Where: The home of old student Sachi Amatya, Acton, MA.

Who: Children ages 8 – 12.

Registration: Please register to attend or serve here.

About the course: This course is open to any child, regardless of prior meditation experience. The children’s course offers young people an introduction to Anapana meditation, a practice of the observation of natural breath to concentrate the mind. They will learn Anapana and take their first steps on the path of Dhamma.

Many young people who practice Anapana regularly realize many benefits. Their ability to concentrate becomes enhanced, their memory gets sharper, their ability to comprehend a subject improves, and they become calmer. In general, they feel they have a practical tool to use in the face of any type of adversity or challenge.

Course Format: During the course, there will be meditation instructions as well as activities such as games, art, and storytelling. Children will be divided into groups according to their age as they participate in these activities. They will be assigned to volunteer “Group Leaders” who will accompany and assist them throughout the course, providing support and guidance as needed.

Number of Participants: Due to the small venue, we will accept a maximum of 6 boys, 6 girls, and a minimum number of servers. Registration will be closed when we reach these limits, so please apply early if interested.

Serving the Course: We need adult “old students”, those who have completed at least one ten-day course in the tradition of Mr. S. N. Goenka to serve the course. For those interested in serving the course, please apply to serve via the link above, or contact us at the email address below for more information about how to serve as a Group Leader.
Please feel free to spread the word to friends and family!
